Isaiah: The Lord Saves (Continued)

Sometimes called the Romans of the Old Testament,  the book of Isaiah is a theological masterpiece. Not only does it deliver some of the most beautiful poetry in the Bible, but it also gives us a glimpse into God’s perspective on human history and His magnificent redemptive plan. Kathleen Nielson helps us apply this book to ourselves as the people of God and points us to our Savior, the promised Messiah. Living Word Bible Studies offer a guide into deeper study of God’s Word, one whole book at a time. Five days of questions in each lesson lead the way to careful textual study, with helpful context and commentary woven throughout. The aim is to read the Scriptures and to learn to read the Scriptures with ever increasing discernment, delight, and conviction.

A Study of the Gospel of Matthew (Continued)

The Gospel according to Matthew is a bridge book linking the Old Testament with its longing and desire for the coming of the Messiah to the revelation of the Messiah’s kingly rule over the new people of God.  Today, we too need to know that Jesus is truly God’s King, and our hearts need to hear His call to “follow Me.”  Today, we need to hear His command to take the message of His death and resurrection to the world.

A Study of Isaiah (Precept Upon Precept)

Isaiah is the crown jewel of Old Testament prophets, a book that strikes awe in the heart of its reader, especially when its poetry is read in the Hebrew. Prophecies from Isaiah are mentioned in twenty-two places in the New Testament. The words of Isaiah were often found on the lips of the Christ, the Messiah prophesied in Isaiah. If Jesus, God incarnate, honored this grand and glorious book so highly, then you and I ought to do the same.

In Isaiah Part 1, we'll meet the Holy One of Israel, and learn how He deals with those who claim Him as God but don't honor Him as God in the way that they live. And we'll find the destiny of nations, the future of all mankind ... including ours.

Our Women of the Word 2019 challenge is the memorization of 1 Peter 1 and 2, so this will give us an opportunity to dive in together. Incorporating other Scriptures will help us learn to live with thankful hearts focused on God’s ways in order to better understand His lovingkindness (Psalm 107:43). Treasures from the Parables (Joy of Living Bible Studies)

Treasures from the Parables covers selected parables of Jesus that deal with subjects such as lost things, what to do while waiting for the Lord’s return, God’s invitation, and the temporary vs. the eternal…

The parables are very exciting and challenging portions of Scripture. Like a mystery novel, there is always something veiled, something hidden within them; thus they are enticing and challenging.

There are clues given in each of the parables that lead us to its meaning. These clues encourage us to investigate and discover the hidden truths, which will become real treasures that enrich our lives and deepen our walk with the Lord when we apply those truths to our lives. —A ten week study.

Mom to Mom: A Chance to Die (by Elisabeth Elliot)

The Christian life comes down to two things: trust and obedience.  What do these words mean, exactly? We will look at a life to see the answer. Amy Carmichael had a passion for God and for sharing His love that is a model for all Christians. Her life of obedience stands as a model for all of us who claim the name of Christ. Join us for a comprehensive study of a young Irish woman who dedicated her life to the children of India. Her prolific writings give us insight into her walk with God and her role of mother of thousands of children. This study will build around a framework of that which was precious to Amy: the centrality of the Cross from the gospels: Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.
