OPPORTUNITIES FOR SUMMER 2018
MUST Ministries Summer Lunch Program
Would you like to be blessing to needy children this summer? Host a lunch packing party for the MUST Ministries Summer Lunch Program that will feed 6,000 - 7,000 children five days a week during June and July. Invite your friends and neighbors to join you! For information and assistance on how to organize a packing party in your home, contact Susan Hooker.
PLUS: Books for Children
Children who receive lunches this summer through the MUST Ministries Summer Lunch Program are also given a book each Friday. Do you have any gently used books you would like to donate? If so, bring them to the Women’s Ministry area of the Welcome Center, and we will get them into the hands of needy children!

School Supply Drive 2018
During the month of July, Women's Ministry will conduct our annual School Supply Drive on behalf of two partnership ministries of The Church of the Apostles: Atlanta Youth Academy (AYA) and S.A.Y. Yes! Center. Plus, items will be donated to needy children in our own community!
Donations will be collected in the Narthex on Sundays, July 15, 22, & 29.
Single Parent Swap Party
with Walton Communities
The annual Single Parent Swap Party is coming up on August 10 at Walton Reserve Apartments in Austell. Instead of collecting clothing this year, we are concentrating on household items - home decor and accessories, basic household goods, and some ladies' accessories, like purses, scarves, and costume jewelry. Affording things to make a home look pretty or more serviceable are luxuries for many single parents.
Donations will be collected in the Narthex on July 15, 22, & 29.
Below is a suggested list of items to donate:
HOME DECOR & HOUSEHOLD GOODS
- Picture frames
- Decorative pillows
- Kitchen items
- Pots and pans
- Bedding (comforters, pillow shams, bedskirts)
- Christmas decor
- Fourth of July decor
- Ornaments, wreaths, serving items, etc.
PERSONAL ACCESSORIES (LADIES)
- Costume jewelry
Share the Love of God with a prisoner!
We would like to invite you to collect any hotel soaps, lotions, and shampoos you encounter in your travels and donate them to the prison ministry!
- Soap (hotel size and larger)
These items can be dropped off at the Women’s Ministry area of the Welcome Desk in the narthex. If you have any questions about items that you want to contribute, please contact Susan Hooker.
Calling All Cooks!
The SAY Yes! Center, a Christ-centered after-school program in midtown Atlanta, is in need of simple, nutritious meals throughout the school year. Volunteer today to prepare dinner for approximately 25 children on a one-time basis or even once a month. This is a great service project for all ages and stages and a perfect small group activity. Not a cook? Consider donating the cost of a meal.
View the online schedule and sign up to take a meal here.
